The Rocketeer was a fun little film released by Disney back in the early nineties. It follows the story of Cliff Secord, a stunt pilot in the late 1930’s who encounters an experimental rocket pack, gets himself in a whole mess of trouble, and saves his wannabe-actress girlfriend from a Nazi spy. While my recollection of the details of the story may be a bit a bit fuzzy, the important thing to take away from this is that the girlfriend role was portrayed by a young, up-and-coming Jennifer Connelly.
The Rocketeer for the Super Nintendo, on the other hand, is a pathetic attempt at cross-promotion with the movie, where you play as the same hero through a series of incredibly simple races, clumsy and monotonous shootouts, and uninspired fist-fights to save your wannabe-pin-up-model girlfriend. While my recollection of the details of the game may not be worth a damn to anyone, the important thing to take away from this is that the game has almost no connection, except by the mere shared use of the Rocketeer intellectual property with the movie, with Jennifer Connelly.
